Remembering Those California BeachesI have always been attracted to the water: perhaps because I grew up on Lake St Clair or maybe because I am a water sign. I, especially, love the ocean. When I lived in California, I tried to spend as much time as possible there. I love the smell of the salt water, the feel of it on my feet and the food that it provides my soul. It is a great source of inspiration in my life. Below are some photos I took while driving the 17 Mile Drive on the Monterey Peninsula in California.
Tulips on Mackinac IslandSpring is right around the corner. I can't wait for all of the flowers to start blooming and put some color back into the landscape. Tulips are always a sure sign that spring has arrived. I took the tulip photographs you see below during a springtime trip to Mackinac Island, a few years ago, on the grounds of the Grand Hotel. In honor of the tulip I will leave you with this great quote I found about them. "A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone. It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose. It doesn’t have to. It is different. And there’s room in the garden for every flower.” – Marianne Williamson
Mardi Gras and MasksWith Mardi Gras right around the corner I can't help but remember a trip I took to New Orleans. I love the music, the food and the people of this great city!
Feeling Warm in DetroitToday it was unseasonably warm with a high in the upper 60's. I can't believe it is February in Michigan! As I was out and about around the city, I couldn't help but take some photos. The city was so alive with people everywhere. I just love photographing Detroit. There is so much beauty around every corner.
