Shayna- Detroit Senior PortraitsI had the wonderful opportunity to do Shayna's senior portraits a few weeks before her high school graduation. We had a great time taking photographs on the beautiful Detroit RiverWalk, Milliken State Park, Dequindre Cut and Detroit Institute of Arts. Shayna was fun to work with as she posed and danced around to Bruno Mars in the background. I wish her the the best of luck as she goes off to college in the fall.
Dee's Birthday: 85 Years YoungThis past month I had the opportunity to photograph Dee's 85th Birthday Celebration in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Her daughters held a celebration filled with her closest friends and family. It was easy to see just how loved Dee is. Not a detail of this party was left out: from the table decor to the musicians and food. From the few hours I got to know Dee, I could tell she is incredibly vibrant, fun loving and a woman who loves to dance. Happy Birthday Dee! I wish you many more.
Rochester Engagement Session - Sarah & JeremyIt was the perfect spring day to be out shooting an engagement portrait session. Sarah and Jeremy were a great couple to work with. They are both football fans. Sarah roots for her alma mater of Michigan State, while Jeremy roots for the University of Michigan. Rest assured they don't let this rivalry get between them though! This couple wanted to take their love of football, universities and each other to their engagement photos. We had fun taking photographs at a local Rochester high school football field. We also took photographs at the local Rochester Municipal Park. Sarah and Jeremy are a terrific couple. I wish them all the best, as they count down to their wedding date.
Why We Love Our Fur BabiesPets are such a special part of anyone's family. They provide fun, laughter, friendship and a whole lot of unconditional love. You have to love those wet, slobbery kisses they give! I should know, as my family and I have our very own fur baby who is our second child. She has quite the personality and brings so much happiness. We love her to pieces. Pet photography has really taken off the last few years, as family pets are playing an increasingly more important role. It is only natural to include them in family photos or to hold a special photo session of their own. Who doesn't want photographs of their pet hanging on the wall or in a frame on their desk at work? They are our furry children after all. Below are photographs from some of my favorite pet photography sessions to date.
Pan Dulce: The Sweetest Bread in Southwest DetroitThis past weekend, I was really craving some pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread), so I decided to go to one of my favorite bakeries in Southwest Detroit. Every once in awhile, I just have to have some. I grew up eating pan dulce, so there is something about eating it that is very comforting for me. Nothing screams delicious on a cold, dreary day like a concha or empanada with a cup of Mexican hot chocolate.
